Welcome to the GaiaFM software home page!

Here you will find information about the software or you can try it out for yourself. Have a blessed journey!

The software is not related or associated in any way with the Gaia FM radio channel.

About The GaiaFM Software

The purpose of the software is to provide a means to the user to reflect on whether there might be order in chaos that theoretically should not be there. If something does exist, what it might be and why is it there is open for contemplation.

The software is available for iOS and Android, and there's a web interface as well, available on this website.

How It Is Done

The software uses live-generated true random numbers to address a user-specified database to generate a random English sentence with random English words. The result is passed to the user.

Questions To Chaos

Using the software, you can ask a question from the chaos. A hash of this question is sent to a server which is listening to radio waves on an unused frequency. The server uses this live data to generate evenly distributed true random numbers. These numbers are used to index the selected database for a sentence type and a word of each type belonging to the sentence. The response you get is unique and with no elements of predetermination.

What To Expect

It is usual that the response you get does not exactly answer your question. It might touch the subject by a word, synonym, or sentence structure, but this is in no way guaranteed. The responses, more often than not, concern an issue that the entity, whatever it is, feels like talking about. The use of Wikipedia, google and a dictionary is advised where necessary.

Database Content

The databases consist of Buddhist, Christian, Islamic and non-religious texts, separated into their own entities. The database can be selected using the 'Alignment' option in the user interface.

News

HTTPS Is Up - Aug 19, 2022

The secure HTTPS version of the site is now available, signed by a trusted Certificate Authority. This means that when using the web interface below, the answers don't anymore travel through the Internet unencrypted. The mobile apps still use basic UDP without encryption. I will address this later.

Databases Improved - Aug 18, 2022

I improved the database parsing and accessing code and the answers are now more grammatically correct (although still not perfect) and the potential for a slight breeze of divine intervention is overall better present. Don't get overexcited but at least I'm getting more abundant food for thought after the change.

The improvement applies to all databases. Please note that I didn't improve the mouth, just the language. I'm not restricting the output in terms of words, at least yet, so you may encounter whatever is present in the books which the databases consist of. So good luck and God Bless!

New Website Launched - Aug 14, 2022

Welcome to the new website of the GaiaFM software! I decided to give the site a more modern look and implemented a web form for the software in the process with some backend work in NodeJs. I also changed the web server from Apache to Express and that also runs on NodeJs now.

The mobile apps have not been updated and still have their old look. I will address this in the future. I'm also considering a Twitter link with which you could tweet a sentence directly from the software or the website. The schedule for these plans is open.

Ask Gaia

You can ask a question from the server online, using the form below. It's not necessary to write a question to ask something, you can also just press the Ask button with an empty question field. Just settle your mind to the question you would ask, and keep it so until the answer is shown.

The form requires javascript to work.

Happy exploring!
